jay chou's fan came to me to protest against my previous post. haha.
ook let me rephrase it then.. jay chou is talented and he's pretty cool too.. yes.. i believe so.. i think looks are very subjective, but talents cannot be denied, whether it's musical or acting.
i don't personally like any specific artist (singer/actor) but i do have a few favorite characters in anime/drama that i really really like. as junyao used to say, they are 'jia nan ren'. LOL. they are not even real.

i am feeling extremely full and sleepy now. we had a very fun company lunch today, an early celebration for chinese new year as office will be more or less closed next week. we ordered in lots of crystal jade's food, their yusheng is pretty nice.. and one of my collegue kemmy brought chicken with sauce from home.
after the lunch, we had our bible study together again. feels like my working hour is getting shorter every day.

i'll be meeting susi and weiling later. yay. ><

my midori is a champion

lee soo hyun.

seriously.

girls, if you think jay chou or the coffee prince guy are cool/charming, you should see lee soo hyun in 'time between dog and wolf'... which perhaps is the most charming character in the most exciting korean drama series that i've ever watched, nothing like the typical romantic tragic korean stories.

btw, lee soo hyun is a character name.. not the real guy.
real name is lee junki. i have to say, the guy can act REALLY well.

i wonder why this series is not famous. it's brilliant.
time between dog and wolf. two thumbs up.

yesterday was the first part of 'Healthy Relationship Seminar' at TCT.
it's an interesting sharing by ps jeff bout how we relate with ourselves, others and God. there were lots of jokes when we came to the part of differences between man and woman, though generally the statements given are correct, there are some people who definitely disagree.. for example:
men can read map better than women
that's not really true. i'm sure that my sister and i can do better than most guys. LOL.

the biggest joke would be on women can spell better than men and that's the reason why women are the secretaries and men are the bosses.
i think we all laughed to that very sad truth.. simply amusing.

it was a good learning, we learnt about how our family shaped us, sometimes without us even realizing it. the brought up.. the family rules and roles.. it's really true.
anyway, the part 2 will be on wed (730pm). do come if you're free.

dan (zach) gave me a link to videos on beginning of fantasy- the concert in jakarta.
it's a symphony concert specially for final fantasy tracks... from liberi fatali (yes FF8 soundtrack is the best) to advent's OST.
with a very cheap price, you got to watch and listen to nobuo uematsu's masterpiece.. where else can you get this kind of deal?

check out his blog:

how i wished i was in the concert...

i am hungry, seriously.
i haven't eaten any decent meal for the last 40 hours. one bowl of plain porridge, two bowls of campbell cream soup, one small bowl of mashed potatoes and a lot of blood. i'm hungry.

it makes me think again how blessed we are to live in a place without war, imagine if i have to go through this everyday. at least i just need to endure this for a while, one week at most.. and i am thankful that everything went well.
i went for my extraction yesterday morning, it's just freaky. i thought i dislike dentist, it turns out that i dislike dental surgeon even more. lol. they covered my eyes, but as i opted not to be put into sleep by anaesthetic (to save cost), i could hear all the drilling and pulling.. the whole process was nightmare...
well, at least it's done now.. i just need to go back there next week to remove the stitches ><

the funny thing is, both sides of my face are swollen and it looks really funny now. shirls told me yesterday that i would look like mr pringles (the chips). i forgot how he looks like, so she drew it out for me:

this is mr pringles.
and justin made another drawing...

LOL. thanks ah.. i really do look like ms pringles now.. very fat face.

i feel much better now compared to yesterday. no more blood and i can talk.. i just hope that i can eat something nice soon.. just like my last meal on mon nite. we went to eat steamboat buffet at bugis.. i love steamboat.. i love fried mantou. i want cheesecake.. i want fried chicken.. how i wish i can stop this craving to eat..

There is an endless song
Echoes in my soul
I hear the music ring
And though the storms may come
I am holding on
And to the rock I cling

How can I keep from singing Your praise?
How can I ever say enough?
How amazing is Your love?
How can I keep from shouting Your name?
I know I am loved by the King
And it makes my heart want to sing

I will lift my eyes in the darkest night
for I know my Savior lives
and I will walk with You
knowing You see me through
and sing the songs You give

I can sing in the troubled times,
sing when I win
I can sing when I lose my step,
and I fall down again
I can sing 'cause You pick me up,
sing 'cause You're there
I can sing 'cause You hear me Lord,
when I call to You in prayer
I can sing with my last breath
sing for I know
that I'll sing with the angels,
and the saints around the throne

i was reading psalm 16 this morning and truly reminded once again of God's amazing presence in my life. when there is nothing else and no one else.. You are there and will always be there... how amazing it is...

chris tomlin's how can i keep from singing is my song of the week >_<
thanks ec!

it's a weird day.

i left my office earlier since i had an appointment with NDC today. the place gave me a very 'hospital' feeling and that didn't make me feel very comfortable. lots of ppl were wearing surgical attire that i've seen a lot in grey's anatomy and they looked gloomy. it was raining like mad and all the lightnings made the place worse.. i just felt weird.
ok, maybe it's just me.
anyway, they've scheduled a surgery for me next week, that means 5 days MC. LOL. not sure if i should feel happy about this. thinking about the pain...

one thing that i hate about doctors, when they are trying to explain certain conditions with a very serious facial expression... seriously scaring me off.

first, my dental surgeon said that there's a risk involved since my wisdom tooth is near the nerve, worst scenario is for me to have permanent numbness after the surgery and i will lose my taste bud..
at this second, i looked at her in disbelief. utterly shocked.
losing my taste bud?? what will happen to the joy of eating chilli then??
so i asked her what she meant with permanent. she answered me with a straight face "... permanent means forever."
-_-"
well, apparently the possibility for this to happen is only 1% or 2%. that's incredibly low.

next, she told me that she found a black dot (like a mole) inside my mouth, she advised me to do a small surgery to remove it. when i asked her if it's really necessary, she gave me this killer look and told me that there's always a possibility (though very small) that in the future it can be harmful and cancerous.
and once more i looked at her in disbelief.
gotta be kidding me. cancerous? i don't like that word.

i don't like hospitals. seriously. they make me sweat.

looking on the bright side, i got to know a friendly lady (which i believe is a christian as well) while waiting for my turn. she happened to sit beside me and we had a great conversation together though we've just met. it's interesting how God put different people at different places and different timings.

For married women to identify with, for single women to keep in mind and for men who can take the joke. LOL.

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance -- particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.
I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Signed,
Desperate
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Desperate,

First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an Operating System.
Please enter the command: "I Thought You Loved Me.exe" and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.
Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta. Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).
Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0 ...
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly.
You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck,
Tech Support

something that is very interesting has been going on in my office.

earlier this week, one of my manager passed me a copy of psalm devotional book.
she mentioned that she wanted to hold a bible study group in office during lunch break and this month's focus is on the book of psalm.
talking about surprise.

to give a little background, though i'm working in a global company, my spore office has less than 10 employees and all of us are christians. yes.. all of us.
so on second thought, to have a bible study group in office IS possible.

yesterday i decided to join them in this 'new office activity' and i really have to say that it was really good.
we read the passage together, had some sharing and of course prayed for one another. without realizing, we used up more than our break time. lunch has become very long.. and that is a good thing =P

we talked about worship yesterday and trusting God today.
we looked at one another and amazed that though we come from different churches, different countries (my colleagues are from msia, taiwan, hk) and reading the bible in different languages, but yet our heart for God is one.
suddenly this consultancy company that i'm working at transformed into a church office. well.. at least, it felt that way. LOL.

since many of us are rushing to work every morning and we may not have the discipline to do devotion at home, this new idea is really good indeed.

my left arm is killing me... it can't stop shaking.
today i realized how hard it is to be a photographer, especially when the camera is HUGE with HUGE lens added unto it.

it's the first official match of HPL. exciting new ministry..
we were blessed with good weather though the sky was pretty dark at the beginning. a few ppl came down to watch and we even had videographer from church =P
i ended up using merv's camera through-out the match. it was a good experience except for the fact that the camera was too heavy for me.
match ended with score of 4-1 and one red card was issued >_<

after that, es drove mei, roy, eugene, yaoguo and me to commonwealth area.. we had a very good meal.. hahaa.. i feel really happy whenever i have a good meal.. and a good meal is not necessarily expensive.
totally enjoyed it.

my knee hurts but i feel good. LOL.

it's been a long day. i woke up earlier than my usual saturdays. decided to go to sengkang polyclinic to get a referral letter for wisdom tooth extraction surgery. the place was seriously crowded and i found myself watching old chinese drama on tv while waiting for perhaps 2 hrs. the drama was interesting haha so the wait was bearable.
after lunch, i went all the way down to camden (tanglin) to meet my eye specialist - the regular checkup.. everything's fine, in fact he said that my eyes can see better now compared to my previous checkup.. i wonder.

when i got out of the place, it suddenly poured. i was stuck at the lobby for very long (thankfully i had a book with me).. when i finally managed to walk to the bus stop, the ground was all wet.. and i slipped over.. and before i realized it, my left hand and knee were on the ground....
it's been a while since i last fell.
my knee was painful.. my toes were hurt. and i kinda limped to the bus stop. LOL. i wore jeans so the bruises are not that bad.. think back again, it was so funny.

after resting for a while at home, i walked over to esmond's house.
we had a really good gathering. lots of food, lots of drinks. i seriously ate a lot.. and drank even more. lol. but the ppl matters more =p
thanks to bao for organising and es to provide the place.

it's 2008. yet another new year.

few things that i really want to remember and thank God for in the previous year (07):

1. a new group - 8D.
new friends, new dynamic, new experience. it's been a fun year together with this unit =)

2. a new learning experience - spanish class
though now i can't remember most of the things that i learnt in the class, it was really enjoyable to learn a new language. i guess i have to start revising on some of the phrases...

3. a new home
from serangoon to serangoon.. haha.. moving house is tiring but i have to say that i like my current place more than the previous. it's a good choice to move.

4. a new hobby - esplanade
believe it or not, i love to browse through sistic.com nowadays, especially the orchestra section.
phantom of the opera, tommy e concert, piano concerto.. 2007 is a year of experiencing.

5. a new breakthrough globally - missions
i won't forget my trip to myanmar in may. it was an eye opener and left such deep impression on me.
God works in an amazing way..
more missions trip in the future.. and i hope everyone can go for one too...

6. a new companion - my dear cousin
she came to spore last june and it's really amazing to see her being attached to indo group. i'm going to be really sad when she goes back this June.. well.. her wedding is coming up soon and i will be the bridesmaid.. time for me to lose weight =p

7. a new holiday - bali
my sis and i had our own adventure in bali.. just 2 of us.. somethin new.. lol.
it's a beautiful place.. . maybe i will go there again one day..

8. a new status! - finally a PR now
2007 is the end of my ICA adventure... no more immigration problem... God has been really good.. really really good.

and there are many more that i can't really put down here.

i'm sure that 08 will be filled with even more blessings and good memories..

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever
