i was closing my eyes and trying to sleep on the bus as i heard news from channel news asia.. bad news.. more bad news... even more bad news...
i haven't been really following on the situation after that tsunami unbelievable tragedy, until today. it's madness and you just can't help but moved seeing all the pics and stories about the victims. how a city just being wiped out like that.. more than 122,000 ppl died without any warnings whatsoever n those who survived lost all their possessions. can you imagine losing your everything??? your house (yes including your comfy bedroom, pc, tv, ps2, clothes n fridge), no more schools and offices, the church (as in the building), your loved ones?? don't even know where to sleep, what to eat, what to drink?
tell ya, we are so blessed here to be blocked by the whole sumatra (indonesia). if this tsunami reached here, i think half or even whole island would have been gone.
natural disasters.. look at the list that i've found...
2004 Asian quake disaster - over 122,000 dead; 2003 earthquake in Bam, Iran - official casualty figure is 26,271 1976; Earthquake in Tangshan, China, kills 242,000; 1970 Cyclone in Bangladesh kills 500,000; 1887 China's Yellow River breaks its banks in Huayan Kou killing 900,000; 1826 Tsunami kills 27,000 in Japan; 1815 Volcanic eruption of Mount Tambora on Indonesia's Sumbawa Island kills 90,000; 1556 Earthquake in China's Shanxi and Henan provinces kills 830,000
dead bodies everywhere.. i can't help to think that life is indeed fragile, never even knew when you'll depart from this world. make sure that your life is meaningful, purposeful and ready to be called by our father anytime.
if anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need and has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? - let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
