last night MC invited us to his house for dinner cum core meet. the meal was simple but nice and i began to think that i should start learning how to cook simple dishes as well. my colleague has been bringing food from home for lunch, fried rice etc.. if i can do that too, i will be saving a lot of money...

cooking and exercising..
i've been wanting to do these.. but simply lack of motivation and time..
i need to stop going out everyday and stay at home more.

btw, i've watched 'juno' earlier this week and i think it's niceee ^^

the psycho part of me

we went to watch 'no country for old men' last night. it was a confusing movie.. strange? we were left with some questions unanswered until we checked on the mighty wikipedia.. seriously, wiki is such an amazing website. anyway, though it was strange, i like the movie. not sure bout the other two, but i found it entertaining.
javier bardem is such a cool sociopath and that cattle gun (as how it's named) that he carried around is just ingenious. very interesting weapon.
i know that it's sick of me to like such a sick person who kill people in a sick way. but.. it's.. nice.

gv has been monopolizing all the good movies. it's really sad that you can only find movies like gone baby gone, no country for old men and there will be blood in 2 theatres (ps & vivo) and the timing is ridiculous too..

tired... after many days of having holiday mood, we're finally back to business.. busy at work and boss being around in office, etc.. i really gotta start planning to exercise (and execute it) to increase my stamina. i think i've been saying this since last year..

just came back from wam nite. so thankful that rachel aka huina drove me home considering how sleepy i was. another one month before her wedding and she asked me to help out for the media, i gotta say that i am feelin excited and privileged... think back again, i have known her for only about 2 years now since i joined mm but yes she's been a great leader...
seriously, i do love what i'm doing. i love my ministry.

celebrated bday together with reina.
it was the first celebration for me this year (2 sundays ago)

we should have stood nearer to the cake....


and for the first time, someone actually planned a surprise party for me, but someone let the cat out of the bag few days before the actual day so i was fully prepared. LOL. had a jap dinner met up last sat with perhaps almost everyone that i hold very dearly in my heart (missing a few ppl). i really enjoyed the time together.. it's one of the moments in my life that will always brings me smiles..

time has no mercy.. i am 26. hahaha...

we had a farewell for nicole last nite as our cg will be combining with MC's and nic is going over to another cg from this week onwards.
esmond suggested defu lane seafood so off we went ><




look at esmond's fingers... gosh.. and germs was probably the one who ate the most.. LOL.. crab crab and crab...
i really enjoyed the time together.. the dinner too.. but mostly the companion.. i think we are a very unique cg.



the night ended with nic giving me a pair of earrings which perhaps is the most beautiful one among my collection... love it sooo much..
though we'll still be in the same unit, i'll really miss her leading.. well.. but at least she's still my shepherd =P
this afternoon, i met my high school best friend, lily. she's here for holiday so she asked me out for a lunch. it's been more than 5 years since the last time i met her.. and this time she brought her daughter out with her..



i can't believe it.. her daughter.. i can still remember how lily looks like in school uniform and now she has a daughter...
anyway... it's just so great seeing her.. really great....
after work, i headed to liang court's kino. supposed to meet susi there.. but i ended up being too engrossed in reading japan travel guide books that i lost track of my time.
when i told them that i was too busy looking at the 'guides', weiling actually heard me saying that i was too busy looking at the 'guys'

anyway, we ended up in brewerkz, susi and shufen gave us a very generous treat for the dinner and the surprise swensen's ice cream cake.



apart from thanking God for letting me live this long, i just wanna thank Him for this family that He has given. to all who have given me wishes (sms, msn, face to face), too many to put down here, you know who you are, i really appreciate it ^_^
what can i say, God is good.

this entry is based on my own opinion. it is normal if you do not agree with me.

i was bored last night so i just decided to watch a movie alone. it's definitely less hassle compared to gathering a bunch of people to watch together, but it felt kinda weird too, sitting alone that is.

anyway, the movie was good enough to make me forget that i was watching alone. 'gone baby gone', nice thriller. i like it.
in fact, there are so many good movies around nowadays. let me give some comments on some movies that i have watched for the past 3 weeks...

the mist
based on rottentomatoes.com/RT (probably the most accurate movie rating): 70%
i agree.
it's ridiculous and not scary.. but.. it's not the worst horror movie that i've ever watched.. in fact, it's quite entertaining at some parts.. so.. 70% is probably the correct rating.
watch it if you are a big fan of stephen king and if you errr have lots of money to spend.

atonement
RT: 82%
i agree.
the cinematography is fantastic.. the drama is a bit slow and draggy and tiring though.. not as good as i expected.. but.. it is still an oscar quality.
watch it if you are a big fan of keira knightley, don't be shocked to see how skinny she is though. lol. nah.. watch it for the artistic feel.
btw, this movie won the best movie for golden globe.

this is a great western movie. one that i enjoyed very very much.
and it's russel crowe + christian bale!

this movie is good for those who love drama.. sad drama.. something that is so slow, so beautiful..
and those who are more sensitive will cry, like the girl who watched with me =p

i agree.
this movie is too long.. if only it is shorter, i will give it a higher rating..
nevertheless, it is still a good movie. i like the conclusion.
those who hate long drama should avoid this movie.

sweeney todd: the demon barber of fleet street

i agree.
i think i don't need to comment a lot on this. most people that i know have watched this movie.
it's interesting, it's entertaining..
johnny depp can sing. a revelation.
this is a movie for gathering.

hmm... i agree.. or maybe.. 90%
a very interesting thriller.. but i believe it is not a movie that many can appreciate..
it's complicated. yes that's the word. complicated. lol.
good movies are always complicated.

27 dresses
RT: 37%
i seriously disagree..
well, the story is predictable and not brilliant compared to many others, but i think the movie is entertaining. i certainly enjoyed watching it. it's just great watching katherine heigl and james marsden together.. yes.. marsden himself can make this movie at least 60%. LOL. ok kidding, with the story and everything.. maybe i will give this movie 80%.
sometimes we just need a nice romantic show that doesn't require frowning..

i am going to watch american gangster and juno soon.
next on the list: no country for old men, there will be blood and perhaps.. spiderwick chronicles
some stories should just remain in a book, so i don't think i will watch the kite runner and ps i love you. do read the books if you haven't though.

i am definitely not watching cj7, kungfu dunk and ah long pte ltd. no offence, but i think there are just too many better movies. too many.

3:10 to yuma is good.

if you're wondering what it is, it's a movie.. a very good movie.. seriously.. really good.. perhaps one that i enjoyed the most after last year's blood diamond.

the movie's disappearing from cinema and it seems that no one knows about this. sigh. what a joke.
